Remove Mini Blinds

Most horizontal blinds have similar mounting brackets.

Secure the slats and bottom rail into place which will make the blind easier to remove from the brackets. First remove the valance if there is one on the blinds. If your blinds are very long however you may also have center support brackets in the middle. Follow these simple steps to removing the blinds.

Most valances are mounted with a clip that will attach at the top of the headrail. The process of removing vertical blinds is incredibly similar to that of removing venetian and mini blinds. For most mini blinds you will have 2 brackets 1 on each end of the blinds. You can do this with your fingers or a flathead screwdriver by slightly opening the clips that hold the slats in place and then.

Remove center brackets first if you have them. Pull the mini blind cords raising the blinds up to the headrail. Horizontal blinds can range from wood and faux wood blinds or a aluminum mini blinds. You may need to ask for assistance if the blind is more than 30 inches wide so that the blind is lifted evenly and does not become hung up from lifting one end.

Once the screws have been removed the brackets will become. If you are removing a mini blind from a window permanently you will want to also remove the brackets they were attached to. If you have center brackets undo them first before opening the brackets on the end of the blinds. If you are just cleaning the blinds leave the brackets in place.

The biggest difference is that you ll want to remove the vertical slats before attempting to remove the headrail otherwise you may damage the blinds.
